What We Believe
In accordance with the Holy Bible, by faith, we believe in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Gen. 1:1). We believe God formed man from the dust of the earth. We believe all things were created by the Word Who was with God and Who is God (John 1:1). We believe the Word (Who Is Jesus Christ) became flesh and dwelt among us.
We believe Jesus was conceived of the virgin named Mary after the Holy Ghost came upon her. We believe Jesus was God come in the flesh to die on the cross for the sins of the world. We believe Jesus is the only begotten Son of God the Father and the only Savior and hope for humans who are separated from God by sin.
We believe the Holy Bible and the Holy Scriptures are one and the same. We believe the Bible is the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God, both the Old and the New Testaments. We believe the entire Holy Bible is true and unflawed in its contents.
We believe according to the Holy Scriptures that one must believe Jesus is the Messiah Who died for their sins and must repent from sin in order to be saved by the grace of God. We believe in the remission/forgiveness of sin through the shedding of the blood of Jesus and through confession of sin and repentance from sin.
We believe in the Trinity; that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all God but are separate and distinct Beings. We believe that the Holy Ghost/Spirit is the Helper, Comforter, Teacher and Leader into all truth, Who convicts the world and the Christian of sin.
According to the Holy Scriptures we believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. We believe it is distinct from salvation. We believe it is possible to be saved and not yet baptized/filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 8:12-17, Acts 9:1-17, Acts 19:1-6 We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the promise of Jesus that initially came to pass on the Day of Pentecost as taught in Acts chapter 2.
We believe the baptism/filling of the Holy Spirit provides the power needed by the Believer to have the best possible relationship with the Lord and to be the most effective in Christian ministry. We believe God desires all Believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We believe according to the Holy Scriptures that the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the speaking in other tongues as reflected in Acts chapters 2, 10 and 19. http://ksheldonbailey.org/av_item.php?avid=40
According to the Holy Scriptures we believe water baptism and the Lord's Supper/Communion are Holy sacraments that are a part of the Christian faith. We believe every Believer should be baptized by immersion into water as a public testimony of their faith and association with the death, burial and resurrection of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And, as an outward showing of their desire and intention to live a life that is dead to the habitual practice sin and that is completely committed to God.
We believe that every Believer should partake of the Lord's Supper at least once a year or as often as it is practiced by their church.
We believe in all of the miracles of the Holy Scriptures and the power of God to work such miracles today. According to the Holy Scriptures we believe in all of the gifts of the Spirit and the decent, orderly, Biblically authorized operation of them.
We believe that it is God's desire that Believers be in good health and that the stripes of Jesus and power of God provides healing.
We believe there is a literal Heaven where all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord Savior and have repented from their habitual practice of sin, will spend eternity in the presence of God Almighty.
We also believe there is a literal hell where all that have not believed in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, as Lord and Savior and/or repented from their habitual practice of sin, will spend in eternal torment. We believe in the grace of God that extents the opportunity for salvation to whosoever will believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and repent from their sin. We believe in the security of salvation for all that abide in Jesus Christ and return not to the prior life of habitual sin or unbelief. (Matt. 10:22, Rom. 2:6-7, James 5:19-20, 2 Pet 2:20-22, 2 Pet 3:17, Rev. 3:5)
We believe that it is possible to be saved and to return to a life of sin and thereby fall from the position of salvation once held. However, we believe that it is possible to be returned to the place of salvation once held upon confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and repenting once again from the habitual practice of sin.
